FAQ

Preparation: PRP is prepared through 3 simple process:

  1. Blood Collection, a small amount of your blood is drawn usually from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.
  2. PRP Isolation: The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, a machine that spins rapidly to separate the red blood cells from the plasma and platelets, creating concentrated Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) which contains a concentration of platelets that is typically 3 to 5 times higher than the normal levels found in blood.
  3. Microneedling or Injection: Depending on your specific treatment plan, the PRP is either applied topically to your skin and absorbed through Microneedling or injected into the skin’s deeper layers of the targeted areas.

Recovery: PRP Treatment typically has minimal downtime, with mild redness and swelling that subsides within a day or two.

Results: Results vary among individuals, but many notice improvements within a few weeks, with continued enhancement over time as collagen production increases. Multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal results.

Yes, PRP Treatment is considered safe because it uses your body’s natural components, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions or adverse effects. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and considerations. It’s essential to consult with a qualified healthcare provider or skincare professional to determine if PRP Treatment is suitable for you.

However, like any medical or cosmetic procedure, there are considerations and potential risks associated with PRP Treatment. It’s essential to undergo this treatment under the care and supervision of a qualified healthcare provider or licensed skincare professional who is experienced in administering PRP treatments.

Individual responses to PRP Treatment may vary, and there could be mild side effects such as temporary redness, swelling, or bruising, which typically resolve within a short period. To ensure your safety and the best possible outcome, it’s crucial to have a thorough consultation with a healthcare professional who can assess your suitability for PRP Treatment and provide personalized guidance based on your unique skin and medical history.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Treatment offers a range of potential benefits for your skin, and while individual results can vary, many individuals experience the following improvements:

  1. Improved Skin Texture: PRP Treatment can help smooth the texture of your skin, making it feel softer and more refined. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with rough or uneven skin.
  2. Reduction in Fine Lines and Wrinkles: PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production, which can lead to a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, this can result in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
  3. Enhanced Skin Tone and Elasticity: PRP can help improve skin tone by reducing the appearance of pigmentation issues, such as sunspots or age spots. It also enhances skin elasticity, making your skin feel firmer and more supple.
  4. Natural-Looking Results: PRP Treatment delivers natural-looking results because it relies on your body’s own growth factors and platelets to rejuvenate the skin. The outcome is a refreshed appearance without the use of synthetic substances.
  5. Long-Term Improvement: While some results may be noticeable shortly after the procedure, PRP’s full benefits often become more apparent over time as collagen production increases. Multiple treatment sessions may be recommended for optimal and long-lasting results.

It’s important to keep in mind that individual responses to PRP Treatment can vary based on factors such as skin type, age, and overall health. To achieve the best possible results and tailor the treatment to your specific needs, it’s advisable to consult with a qualified healthcare provider or skincare professional who can create a personalized treatment plan based on your goals and skin condition.

After the procedure, the skin may appear slightly red and feel sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. Some patients experience minor swelling and pinpoint bleeding immediately after the treatment. Recovery time is relatively short, with most individuals being able to return to regular activities within a few days. It’s crucial to protect the treated skin from sun exposure and follow post-treatment care instructions provided by the practitioner.

Results from PRP treatments typically become noticeable after a few weeks as collagen production continues. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired results, depending on the individual’s skin concerns. Over time, the skin should appear firmer, smoother, and more youthful.

The number of treatment sessions needed in order to achieve optimal results can vary from patient to patient depending on the patient’s aesthetic goals and the condition being treated. We typically recommend a series of three to six treatment sessions spaced approximately four to six weeks apart. Some patients may benefit from a single micro-needling treatment schedule once or twice a year to improve the health of the skin and enhance regular skincare regimen.

One of the advantages of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Treatment is that it typically involves minimal downtime, allowing you to resume your regular activities relatively quickly. However, there are some post-treatment considerations to keep in mind:

  • Mild Redness and Swelling: It’s common to experience mild redness and swelling at the treatment site immediately after PRP Treatment. This can be similar to a sunburn and typically subsides within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Bruising: Some individuals may experience minor bruising at the injection sites, particularly if PRP is administered via injections. Bruises usually resolve within a few days.
  • Sensitivity: Your skin may be more sensitive than usual after the procedure, so it’s advisable to avoid exposure to direct sunlight and wear sunscreen to protect your skin during the healing process.
  • Makeup: You may be advised to avoid wearing makeup for a short period after the treatment to allow your skin to breathe and heal.
  • Skincare Products: Dr Miller may recommend specific skincare products or routines to optimize the results and support the healing process.

Despite these potential effects, most individuals can return to their daily activities immediately after PRP Treatment. Since PRP relies on your body’s natural healing processes, any post-treatment effects are generally mild and temporary. It’s essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided to ensure a smooth and successful recovery and to protect your newly rejuvenated skin.
